Wildlife Photo Safari

Learn professional wildlife photography techniques from a seasoned pro in the San Domingo's Wildlife Photo Safari. Take advantage of the unique opportunity to explore the 5000 pristine acres of the Ranch's backcountry.

Your instructor will take you along fascinating trails to feeding stations, watering holes and blinds to guarantee you good views of many of the Ranch animals. You'll learn about their habits and how to best photograph them. Learn how to set up your own feeding stations, blinds, and lighting situations for the best chance of capturing that special unique photo. A mid-day question and answer session will help you solidify your new knowledge. Then it's back to the blinds, shooting until sunset... and the San Domingo can have some fantastic sunsets!

The Ranch will supply two-way radios for use in the field as well as plenty of water. You'll enjoy our beautiful gardens as you eat your lunch prior to the Q&A session.

You'll need to supply your own camera. A long lens (200mm or greater), a tripod, and a macro lens are highly recommended. Be certain to bring lots of film or have several clear memory cards: successful wildlife photographers know that great shots come after a lot of duds.

11:00-2:00 - Lunch break with a Q&A session, photo presentation and demonstrations of setups and equipment
2:00-6:00 - Afternoon safari
6:00-7:00 - Wrap-up and sunset photos
